About us

David Wright is a former newspaper reporter and editorial cartoonist. There are rumors that he is actually two people or at least two personalities. There is the nice family guy who writes the humor blog BloggerDad.com and then there is the other side, who likes to hole away in a darkened studio listening to Nine Inch Nails while spinning darker tales.

His comic strip Todd and Penguin has been syndicated by KeenSpot Entertainment site since 2005 and has appeared in several newspapers and collected in the book Todd and Penguin:Embrace Your Inner Dork published by KeenSpot. He also draws at IDrawComics on a semi-regular basis.

David lives in Florida and is married with a two year old son and two insane cats. Between the cats and his son, David spends way too much time disposing of poop.

Sean Platt spent a dozen years running a family flower shop where he was in charge of purchasing roses from around the world, booking beautiful weddings with blushing brides, and arranging colors and textures for optimum effect. Constantly surrounded by flowers, he saw the ceaseless beauty of everyday life. He left the store after the birth of his second child, opened a pre-school with his wife, and discovered he was a writer.

Sean started Writer Dad to chronicle a significant chapter in his family’s biography. The blog was a rough draft of his online writing career, rolling along Monday through Friday while he honed his craft to arrowhead precision.

Sean’s blogging has earned him multiple guest posts at some of the web’s best sites, including Copyblogger, ProBlogger, and Zen Habits, just to name three.

Sean was born to write, and these days have found him arranging words with the same consideration for craft that made his years with flowers a success. Trading his talent for client contentment is what gives his work meaning.

Sean lives in California with his wife, daughter and son. He has no cats.
