About the book

Buried alive with no memory of his life, a man wakes to find a note in his pocket:

“Avoid the sunlight! Don’t touch ANYBODY!”

A few hours later, he is standing over the bodies of two people whose lives he drained via his touch alone. He also finds himself the protector of 11-year old, Abigail, a broken child who believes him to be her angel.

Available Darkness is a genre-bending story involving elements of horror, suspense thrillers and fantasy. We wanted to take the vampire legend and turn it on its head. For the story, we chose to parcel it out in a serial fashion because we are huge fans of cliffhangers. There is nothing quite like reaching the end of a chapter or episode of a serialized TV show and screaming “What the?”

Available Darkness was launched at Collective Inkwell in May 2009. We decided in February 2010 to give the book its own space on the web (which is why there are no comments on the older stories here). New chapters will appear here each Friday. Once the book is complete, we aim for publication.
